Drawing from more than two decades leading market research and analytics for some of the worlds biggest brands, Trina Arnett has launched her own consulting firm to help clients make sense of their data and link it to strong business results.
Arnetts business, trinalytics, helps agencies establish analytics for their clients, works directly with clients to do the same and works with other research vendors to provide a more full-service offering. Before opening her firm in May, Arnett developed and led the analytics teams at advertising firms Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Mullen. Her data-driven insights have led clients such as Microsoft to change their business strategies and approaches. Other brands Arnett has worked with include MetLife, Old Navy, Best Buy, Kraft, Fidelity Investments, Nextel (now part of Sprint), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, LendingTree.com, XM Satellite Radio (now part of Sirius XM), United Airlines and the Beef Industry Council.
Arnett considers herself both-brained: Technical expertise allows her to gather data across platforms and industries, and curiosity and storytelling abilities lead her to extrapolate and explain data, helping clients understand what business strategies work, do not work and can be improved. Her passion for data and analytics began in college, when work in consumer research led to the start of a lifelong fascination with why people do what they do.
Arnett is passionate about explaining client stories through data visualization, in ways that extend far beyond graphs and charts. She loves and has worked with all kinds of data provided by others, including social media data, word of mouth data, brand equity data, advertising and media investments, web traffic data, competitive data, and sales and other business data. In addition, Arnett constantly searches for new data sources to illuminate her clients businesses, and she collects her own data through custom quantitative research that she designs, fields, and analyzes. She often has integrated this data on interactive custom dashboards and through marketing mix models to help clients better understand how to improve their businesses.
In addition to the aforementioned ad firms, Arnett served as Director of Marketing Sciences for brand communications company PARTNERS+simons, Director of Advertising Effectiveness for Fidelity Investments and Vice President of Research and Vice President of Marketing for The Faneuil Group/Faneuil Research. She also was a senior research analyst at Leo Burnett. Arnett took courses toward a Ph.D. in decision sciences and business at the University of Chicago, and she earned a bachelor of science in management science, concentrating in behavioral science, at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Arnett is a member of the American Marketing Association. She has served as a member ambassador for The Advertising Research Foundation and has been on the customer advisory board for Tableau Software, in which she is a certified professional.
